Built in 1842 and converted to a Condominium in 2006. The architect Isaiah Rogers originally designed the building in the Greek revival style. Later, it was enlarged by prominent American architects McKim, Mead & White.

It became a designated landmark in 2002 by the New York Landmarks Preservation Foundation.
